Green Fenix ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to monitor our Site's search engine performance and visibility. This tool does not collect individually identifying visitor information.
Donations and Payment Processing
Donations made through the Site are processed by Squarespace Payments, a PCI-DSS compliant payment platform. When you make a donation, Squarespace Payments collects your:
Name and billing address
Email address
Payment card information (card number, expiration date, security code)
Green Fenix does not store your complete payment card number. We retain transaction records — including donation amount, date, last four digits of your card, and billing name — for financial recordkeeping and donor acknowledgment purposes, as required for nonprofit organizations.
Payment processing is subject to Squarespace's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. If you have questions about how your payment data is handled by Squarespace, please contact Squarespace directly.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Respond to your inquiries and messages
Process donations and send donation receipts
Evaluate eligibility for our tree planting program
Share your application information with program partners (Habitat for Humanity San Fernando Valley, Moon Valley Nurseries) when you have consented to this through our tree request form
Send program updates, impact reports, and communications to supporters who have opted in
Analyze and improve Site performance and content
Maintain the security of our Site and prevent fraud
Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations
How We Share Your Information
Green Fenix does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for monetary or other consideration.
We may share your information with:
Program Partners: Habitat for Humanity San Fernando Valley and Moon Valley Nurseries, when you submit a tree request and consent to this sharing, for the sole purpose of evaluating your eligibility and fulfilling your request
Service Providers: Third parties that assist us in operating our Site and programs, including Squarespace (website hosting and payment processing) and Google (analytics). These providers are contractually restricted from using your information for any purpose other than providing services to us
Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Green Fenix does not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.

Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
Right to Know: You may request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, our business purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom it has been shared.
Right to Delete: You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (such as information needed to complete a donation, maintain legal records, or comply with a legal obligation).
Right to Correct: You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: You may direct us not to sell or share your personal information. As stated above, we do not sell or share personal information for advertising purposes.
Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: To the extent we collect sensitive personal information, you have the right to limit its use to what is necessary to provide our services.
Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you — for example, by denying services or providing a lower quality of service — for exercising any of these rights.
For residents ages 13–15: In accordance with CPRA, we do not sell or share the personal information of California residents between the ages of 13 and 15 without their affirmative opt-in consent.

Data Retention
We retain personal information for the following approximate periods:
Contact form inquiries - 2 years
Donor records and transaction history - 7 years (IRS nonprofit recordkeeping requirement)
Tree application data - Duration of program + 2 years
Google Analytics data - 14 months (Google Analytics 4 default)
Email subscriber records - Until unsubscribe + 1 year
Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Payment data is handled by Squarespace Payments, which is PCI-DSS certified.
However, no method of transmitting or storing information electronically is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
Children's Privacy
Our Site is not directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
Third-Party Websites
Our Site may contain links to third-party websites, including those of our partners. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.
